Architecture Neri & Hu

The palette of old Yangzhou architecture is reflected at Tsingpu through the patina of salvaged bricks and materials.

The walls and the courtyard are a strong landscape element that unify the complex while creating layered spaces that seek to redefine tradition with a modern architectural language. Light peeking unpredictably through crevices offers unique perspectives and space for contemplation. Most of the roofs are set below the height of the walls, which hides the retreat from afar.

Interior design Neri & Hu

Gridded brick walls, recycled gray roof tiles, slatted doors, and exposed concrete...

rely on sunlight to create a spellbinding visual language. An abandoned warehouse now houses a theater, an exhibition space, and a restaurant where guests dine on long, communal tables. The rooms are awash in natural materials—a thoughtful blend of dark wood and stone where pastel chairs and white walls add the right touch of softness. Skylights allow for the ultimate communion with nature.

Hotels with Happenings Hands on, minds open

In a sublime natural setting of lakes, guests can lose themselves to the timelessness of the land.

Inside, that sense of timelessness continues with handicraft classes, as well as more unusual activities, such as dressing in traditional opera costume.

Cooking with Class Social succulence

One indulges socially as much as in culinary excellence at the hotel’s restaurant.

Here, guests can partake in cooking classes and dine on organic dishes at long, communal tables that break down walls between strangers and create a community among travelers.
